Explanation of codes Tunnel codes to restrict the passage of certain hazardous materials and reduce risks. The type of tunnel code is 5.4.1.1.1 and 8.6 must be expressed according to ADR in the transport documents to the sender and exquisite. Dispatchers and drivers have to read the strictest tunnel restriction code from the transport documents. If not specified, they must seek out the code from Table A of ADR.
